Marathon Monday Week 4. Suggestions

This week I don't really have any runs, because as you know I was in the middle of a lake for 5 days.

I did run 2.5 miles on Monday but that's about it. But this week is gonna be good!

But I do have a question for any of you runners out there.
I consider myself a fairly solid runner, and have pretty good stamina when it comes to running.. on flat ground. We went up sand hill at powell and I found it a lot tougher than I should have considering how much I work out. And I found that going up hills or anything steep kinda kills me. I thing I need to start doing stairs more cause I'm so bad at them but I read somewhere that when marathon training you should avoid doing stairs or anything that will bulk up your quads.

What do you guys think about this? Should I not do then while training or do you think it really matters that much?

I'd suggest hill repeats instead of stairs. Find a moderate hill that you can run up in 60-90 seconds. Run at race pace up the hill. Jog down to cool off. Repeat that 4-7 times.

Or you can run on the treadmill on an incline, of course.

New reader! Super inspired by your progress this year! I was going to suggest the incline program or hills or something on the treadmill. You can run intervals to get your stamina up.
